Moscow in the winter
Moscow is very interesting, Red Square is a beautiful place. The cars are extremely dirty in the winter. So much so that it is impossible to read any license plate numbers. Nobody bothers scribbling 'wash me' on any of the cars because you wouldn't know where to start. Speaking of driving, it is absolutely crazy there. I consider my wife a 'careful' driver and I'm a bit more agressive perhaps. But I'm not even in the same league as the drivers in Moscow. For one thing, there are no lanes. Good thing I didn't have to drive.

Election Talk
I learned the hard way about the dangers of talking about politics with friends and coworkers. Especially as we are getting closer to this election, it becomes more tempting to discuss political views. Most recently the issue was brought up and there was an awkward silence in the room. Then someone echoed the overwhelming consensus of the group; let's not go there. I was pleased with this decision. I am a liberal, supporting Obama. I know I have many colleagues who have the opposite view. I can honestly say that I'm O.K. with people having different opinions. But there have been many occasions where people have been very ill informed about the facts. And that is unfortunate. I think when someone has all the relevant facts, it ups the level of the dialogue.

My first blog
I'm kind of slow but I finally thought I'd give this 'blog' thing a try. I don't think I have a lot of interesting things to say, but what the heck.
